Equipment Types
Overview
Each Mobile Device you have will have to be associated with Equipment in Footprint. And all Equipment has to be categorized under an Equipment Type. Equipment Types are a way of classifying groups of equipment that are all similar, so that settings can be globally set to affect all equipment of that type. For example: your operation may want vehicle mounts to behave slightly differently than wrist-mounted scanners, so you would create two different Equipment Types and then assign your Equipment to the appropriate type.
The Equipment Types section allows you to create new Equipment Types.
From here you can...
Main Screen Layout
The Equipment Types section only has one area: the Equipment Types List.
1. Equipment Types List
Here you can view all the existing Equipment Types, edit them, or create a new Equipment Type.
Equipment Types List
You can create a new Equipment Type by clicking the New button and typing the Equipment Type LookUp Code in the grey field at the bottom of the list, or you can edit an existing Type by highlighting it and clicking the Edit button. Once you've finished, click the Save button.
The Can Handle Full LP Tasks Operations option is intended for use with Equipment Types capable of transporting full License Plates (usually Pallets). Checking this option allows Mobile Devices of this Type to find and perform full License Plate Tasks; if left unchecked, the Device will filter out Tasks involving full License Plates.
Note
Leaving the Can Handle Full LP Tasks Operations option disabled will remove the Putaway, Load, and all License Plate Move sections from the Mobile Device screen.
